Frustrated ICE officials have reportedly launched a new website that they hope will send a message to the Trump administration, according to BizPacReview.
The website comes as officers have felt left behind by the president, whom they believe has not kept the promises he made before taking office.
Check it out:
“ICE Officers grudgingly admit that the only President they ever endorsed hasn’t kept his word, and many officers now feel betrayed,” a statement by officers reads on the new website.
ICE Council President Chris Crane says he still believes Trump will deliver on his promises, but admits many within the rank and file are feeling increasingly frustrated and “stabbed in the back.”
Crane penned an open letter to the president that testifies to what officers have experienced:
We understand that as President of the United States you are extremely busy with a plethora of critically important matters, but we ask that time permitting you step in to assist the men and women of ICE in our efforts to eliminate corruption and gross mismanagement within the Agency.
Crane identified a few grotesque examples:
Knowing you personally, I know you will furious to know that we have ICE managers ordering their own officers in the field not to wear bullet proof vest because illegal aliens might find it offensive.
He ended the letter, saying:
I assure our officers daily that the only President ever endorsed by ICE Officers has not turned his back on them, he’s simply not aware of what’s happening. Unable to penetrate your staff and communicate with you were left with no choice but to communicate publicly…
I respectfully maintain my long-standing request to meet with you directly.”
The new site provides a platform for whistleblowers within ICE to alert the agency of abuses and internal mismanagement.
The site’s “About Us” page says:
The JIC Report is a revolutionary new website that allows employee whistleblowers from within Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to communicate directly with the American people in an effort to create public awareness, provide oversight and transparency, and seek an end to corruption and mismanagement within ICE and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
This is not an anti-Trump site (ICE employees endorsed the President), it is, however, our only means of correcting an agency that is grossly mismanaged and has no outside oversight.
